  • Comment: I had a 55-yr old gas-fired boiler in need of repair, but the pipe coming out of it had finally thinned to the point of collapse - so replacement was my only option. Went with Choice Comfort because they've been working on the old system for 30+ years (since the company was Peters), and they have always done great work. Opted for the 95% efficient model, wall-mounted option; included new zone valves and digital thermostats. The installation crew were great, nice guys, very efficient! Covered the basement rug with a dropcloth to protect it from the heavy foot traffic while removing the old furnace and doing all the work (but they were so neat, not sure they needed to do that). Had most of the installation completed the 1st day, finished on the 2nd and then got it up and running. At the end, the guys fully explained the new system and how it works - and it's maintenance-free! Since the venting/intake pipes had to come out an approach side of my house, they used a very neat mounting kit instead of leaving PVC pipe sticking out. And they even fixed my clothes dryer's exhaust tubing while they were here. Removed all of the old stuff, excellent cleanup.

Have been using the new furnace for 2 days and it's super quiet! The guys got ALL of the air out of the pipes throughout the system, haven't heard a peep from them except for an occasional metal ping as the metal heats or cools. Even when I stand next to the furnace, I can barely hear it, and I thought the old furnace was quiet! And the wall-mounting gives me a little bit more space in my washroom.

Price was reasonable considering the type of heating system and the installation manpower needed. The high-efficiency furnace really wasn't that much higher than the regular furnace, and I'll get a $500 Vectren rebate. The furnace should last 30 years, and Choice Comfort also gives a warranty (forget how many years right now). Overall, very glad that I got the new system, and glad I got it from Choice Comfort.
